New Moon Musings
Do you have any lingering summer wishes? Today is the new moon in August. Tobacco is beginning to be harvested in the fields near my house, and school buses are on the roads. Now is a time for reflection and review of intentions for the space between seasons.
On the full moon, my friend and I rode out into the pasture and watched the moon rise. It was grounding to be with the horses and the trees. Bats and lightning bugs were diving around us.
When we returned to the house, there was an adorable green tree frog in my kitchen.
We lit a candle, savored our time by the moonlight, and then pulled the frog and the bat from The Animal Spirit Deck by Kim Krans. What wonderful moon messages.
The bat encourages us to let go and signifies the end of a chapter, while the frog reminds us to practice self-care and release unwanted energy. Sometimes, I struggle to come up with ways to honor the moon cycles – this was a wonderful reminder that often nature herself creates the magick for you.
These are chaotic times, and I’ve talked with many of you who are struggling. For this season, September - December, I'm offering fifty-minutes of magick for $180 instead of an hour long session for $220. And I’m changing the six sessions offering to $200 payments each month for six months.
